Thanks to all that attended the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Sherwood Island.  The Pink Puppies Team was well represented and received many compliments.  This is the type of event that the dogs love too when they can walk together with their family at a beautiful location.  The sun was even shining!  Our team raised over $2000 .00 and we’re still counting.  It’s not to late to show your support.  Don’t miss this walk next October.

We have been running at full speed lately!  WOOFstock was a huge success this year.  Despite the rainy weather that follows all our events.  There was a close feeling of togetherness moving indoors.  The Green Girlz amazed us with their fall photos once again.  Be sure you don’t miss them here on 11/22 for your holiday photos.  Plan ahead!  Congrats to all the winners of the day – sure was fun

We will be collecting Present 4 Pets donations here during the month of October.  Bring gently used or new collars, leashes, toys, blankets etc.  These items will go to pets in need at local shelters or rescue.  Thanks to the helpful Brownies and Girl Scout Troops that are serving their community through collections.  Contact us if you need a “pick up”.

Sunday fun day

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Shelton Day started off like a bright summer day.  The crowd enjoyed walking up and down Howe Ave visiting booths, listening to music and watching demos of karate & dance.  Great food and fun for everyone – until (you guessed it) rain!  Seems to be a theme for weekend events this season.  Kida had a great time greeting babies in strollers and snoozing away on her camo cot.

The Westport Walk for Wildlife was a well organized and well supported venture that we highly recommend marking your 2010 calendar.  The rain keep away many that would have otherwise really enjoyed the event.  Our mud puppies had a great time!  photos on www.meetup.com

The weather cooperated by holding off the rain so we could enjoy all the fun at RDO Day in Shelton.  There were lots of old friends who visited and we made some new friends too.  The agility course was fun for everyone even the novice dogs who tried it.  Great place to go with your dog.  Put it on your calendar for next year too!  photos are posted on www.meetup.com

worth repeating

did you know that your dog’s groom can average between 90 minutes or up to 4 hours depending upon style?  It is soooo important that you keep your dog’s coat in good condition all year round to avoid endless hours standing on the table.  Think of your dog’s comfort before you skip an appointment.  Matting can cause major discomfort to your pet and getting them out is no “walk in the park” for them either.  Plan ahead this year for a pleasant holiday groom by booking an appointment in October first.  Coated breeds need to visit every 6 weeks.  Short or double coated every 8-12 weeks.   Puppies usually begin their first groom as soon as they are fully vaccinated so they can learn at a young age to enjoy visiting the salon.  Ask us a question, we’re here to help bring out the best in your pet.
